Ebola virus outbreak alert!
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the Ebola virus outbreak an international public health emergency.
This is the largest Ebola virus outbreak to date and will require international support to the affected countries and a co-ordinated response to control the outbreak and stop further spread.
The risk of Ebola virus being introduced into South Africa remains low and a number of measures have been put in place at
South African ports of entry and medical facilities to identify at-risk persons with fever from the affected countries.
However, it is important that preventative measures are taken and that you are informed and educated in the event of the occurrence of fever.
